The Florida Parade of Retired Equine Champions (FPREC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit Florida corporation founded in 2014, to connect Ocala and Marion County visitors and the local community with champion Florida horses.
We’re working to bring Ocala / Marion County visitors face-to-face with Florida champion horses through building a museum, barn and visitors’ center at the Florida Horse Park dedicated to Florida champion horses, their influence and legacy. Horse farm tours are now available through Farm Tours of Ocala, where visitors can meet champion horses like Presious Passion and learn more about our plans for a museum honoring Florida horses.
Our Mission: to build a champions’ barn, museum & visitors center where Ocala and Marion County visitors and residents can be inspired, informed and educated by meeting Florida champion horses face-to-face and learning about the history and importance of the many breeds of horses in Florida.
You can learn more here on our website about our progress, upcoming events, featured Florida equine champions, and how you, too, can help by donating or volunteering. The Florida Parade of Retired Equine Champions facility will feature a variety of breeds of Florida horses – from stakes-winning Thoroughbred racehorses to champion Arabians, Quarter Horses, warmblood sporthorses and more!
Ocala is truly the “Horse Capital of the World” – and we’re working hard to create a wonderful opportunity to help make Florida’s equine champions more accessible to the public.
